Three Constellations

A Starry Eyed Poem

I don’t really play guitar
But I know a few chords
I can put a tune together 
If you ever get bored

I wasn’t good at science
Chemistry or math
So, when it came to studying
I took a different path

I don’t know enough
To offer you an explanation
But I can show you the sky
Cause I know three constellations

When I’m with you
The words just flow
I speak as though I’m sure of things
But I know what I don’t know

Sometimes simplicity
Is all that you need
On some lights in the night
Your soul, it can feed

Big Dipper, Little Dipper
Orion with his sword
Just look to the sky
And reap your reward

Even scientific laws
Keep alive imagination
So, let’s dream on the stars
Cause I know three constellations

Make a wish on a twinkling light
There is no wrong, there is no right
Close your eyes, open your mind
Leave your doubts and worries behind
You don’t have to know every single thing
To make your heart leap and soar and sing

Not all the planet’s astronauts
Leave the earth
We just need to dream 
To know what our dreams are worth

Just because 
I know I can’t fly
Doesn’t ever mean
I will let those dreams die

For when we look into space
Let it be a revelation
Sometimes all you need to know
Are three constellations
